What is GIF?
GIF stands for Graphics Interchange Format. It uses a limited color palette and can store multiple frames for animation. GIF is commonly used for short looping animations and simple graphics.
This converter takes only the first frame and saves it as a still JXL image. It does not transfer GIF animation to the output.
What is JXL?
JXL is the file extension for JPEG XL, an image format designed for efficient image compression. JPEG XL supports lossy and lossless compression as well as transparency, making it suitable for both photographs and graphics.
